Which one do you have? I want to get one for DD for Christmas and don't know what's best. Suggestions? Would prefer nothing pink.

The KidKraft brand is great. They are a bit more expensive but last forever and are high quality. We got ours from Amazon. Just FYI -- it can take a while to put them together. We made the mistake of underestimating how much labor was involved and didn't open the box until Christmas Eve at like 10PM -- BIG MISTAKE! We have the Uptown model. DD loves it and plays with it daily.

We have the ikea version.
It has sustained constant play for over 5 years and looks great.
It’s not pink and is small (we had it in our kitchen originally). Was bought for a boy... though it is a favorite even for guests.
They still sell essentially the same model

We got KidKraft Uptown last year for Christmas, and so far it's help up great with my very rough 2 year old. We also started putting it together at 10pm on Christmas Eve and finished at like 2am. We had a few pieces that needed to be replaced from shipping, but nothing that affected the morning reveal and the company was great at replacing all the parts. We got it on Sale a few weeks before Christmas. I think we paid about $100 for it.

DD has the Kidkraft corner kitchen, which does happen to have pink at her grandma's house. But they have lots of other colors available. It's a nice, sturdy wood kitchen but it's smaller than the plastic Step2 kitchen I have.

ETA: When I say smaller, I meant shorter.

I have this one for DD and I absolutely love it: https://www.amazon.com/KidKraft-Kitchens-Playset-White-black/dp/B01C49MCEQ/ref=sr_1_9?ie=UTF8&qid=1509977274&sr=8-9&keywords=kidkraft+kitchen

It looks like a real kitchen which I love- plus the fridge, oven, dishwasher, and microwave open up and have shelves inside for storage. It can hold ALOT of stuff. I bought a big set of fake food on amazon, and I got melissa & doug stainless steel pots and pans and utensil crock

Re: Toy kitchen?

Kidcraft is great. BUT like someone above said do not attempt to assemble it Christmas Eve. When reviews say it takes 7 hours to assemble they are not kidding. I am great with assembling things but it still took me 6 hours spread out over 2 days. But its lasted and the kids love it.

Re: Toy kitchen?

I’d get whichever one is in your budget that you find most aesthetically pleasing. In my opinion, the kids play with the play kitchen because it’s a play kitchen. They pretty much all functon the same besides appearance and some random features (ours has a stovetop and microwave that makes noise).

I think this is true of anything from that brand. I feel like anything we have from them felt like an IKEA project.

We have the kidkraft uptown also and its held up great for 3 years now. I just love that it has so much storage space to hold all the food and accessory sets but still has room for playing.

Re: Toy kitchen?

Kidcraft. I think ours was called the expresso. It has held up for 7 years and 4 kids, and is still played with daily!

We have a very no frills Little Tykes kitchen and it's honestly one of the best toys that DD has ever received. She has played with it daily for the past 2 years. It was a breeze to set up and can be made lower or higher depending on the age of your child.

Seven HOURS??

Maybe I'll just buy her mini fridge and call it a day.

Toy kitchen?

Another vote for kidcraft my dd has the retro kitchen I bought my oldest niece 11 years ago- she is the third child to own it- it has stood up to daily play for 11 years- I can’t comment about assembly but I think my brother in law would have made a point to tell me if it took 7 hours to assemble.
