Possible Motion Sickness Toddler?

We live in Nassau but drive with my DD (18 months) to Queens every day. She stays with family/goes to daycare in Queens and we then travel from Queens to Manhattan from there. It's about 45 minutes each way due to traffic. She used to take her pacifier and bottle and sleep in the car both directions. Now, she's dropped her car naps as well as her pacifier (day 6 YAY!) but she still cries for her bottle. I try not to give it to her, but we allow is for naps/bedtime and in the car- always with water only. During the day/meals she drinks water, juice, or milk from her sippy cup. The past week she's been throwing up the water she drinks in the morning only towards the end of our car ride. In the evening she hasn't had any issues. Could this be motion sickness? If so, what can I do? I try to get her to eat in the car (we leave for Queens at 6:00 AM) but she seems to have no interest. She whines a little after she throws up, mostly because she hates a mess. Chat Icon But she seems fine immediately after. We get to my mom's house at about 6:45 and she immediately asks for breakfast so she has her usual breakfast- waffle, bagel, muffins, cereal with milk, etc. And she's fine the rest of the day. I don't know what to do! If I take the bottle away in the car, she's miserable. She won't take a sippy cup in there either.

ETA: Maybe she's drinking too much or too fast? It still has the LOWEST flow nipple. I breastfed her for a year and we never increased the flow.

I would rather she had the pacifier an little longer than the bottle. Also unless you are sitting next to her I would never let her eat in the car. Even then I still might not let her. My pediatrician always advises against kids eating in the car because of the choking hazard. Not to mention the mess.

My daughter throws up a lot in stop and go traffic and always has. She’s five now.

The problem with the pacifier is she chews it. She chewed the tip off one, luckily right in front of me, so I fished it out of her mouth immediately. So I don't feel comfortable giving her a pacifier at all anymore. Plus, she gave it up surprisingly easily. Two days after the chewing incident, she didn't ask for it for a full day so I didn't supply it. I made a conscious effort to not to give it to her since and she's only asked for it once and that's after she saw a picture of herself holding it. Giving both up at the same time though is not in the cards. Though I'm willing to try giving it up during the car trips, even though there will be lots of screaming on her part and probably crying on my part. Chat Icon I just don't know if that's what it is, ya know? She always has the bottle in the evening and never has this reaction so my thought is its her empty stomach.

My kids both had motion sickness from a VERY early age. I actually turned their carseats at 1 because riding backwards made them puke every time we were in the car for more than 20 minutes or any form of traffic. That helped DS a lot but DD still got sick and started on half a Dramamine (forget what age but early) and at 7 still has it bad and needs it.

this for my daughter too. But I turned her when she was closer to 18 months instead.

Hmm not ready to turn her yet, but I'll keep it in mind.

I gave her much less water this morning and she didn't throw up or scream, so maybe it was just too much on an empty stomach.
