DISNEY QUESTION

I'm going to preface this question with-- I know it is morally wrong and many people would not agree with this and flame me for it.. but

Planning a trip to Disney this winter and DD will be just turning 3 (and is very small for her age). We are purchasing resort and dining separatly from tickets.

DOes anyone know whether i can keep her as a 3 yo for the dining plan but claim she is under 3 for ticket purchases..

Also-- if we dont do the dining plan- or if i dont include her in the dining plan, what kind of proof do they ask for for tickets?

They will ask at the main entrance for their age but that's really it. You don't need proof of age, but some people bring it if they have a 2 year old that looks older... Otherwise, you won't need to provide proof- They won't give you a problem.

I wouldn't buy a dining plan or tickets for her. Just buy for you and your spouse!

Re: DISNEY QUESTION

The dining plan is actually tied to your tickets. You cannot purchase a dining plan for her and not get her a ticket and vice versa.

If you do not purchase the dining plan, they usually do not ask for proof of age for ticket purchases unless the child looks older. If they suspect that you are lying about the age, they will sometimes ask the child directly how old they are. They also *COULD* ask for proof of age - it depends on the CM you get working that day.

Re: DISNEY QUESTION

We didn’t buy a ticket for my son last year. He’s super small for his age. No one questioned us during our whole week there. We didn’t do the dining plan but as Pp said I’m pretty sure you need to get a ticket if you buy dining.

What if i did dining for myself , DH and older DD but put DD2 as 2 yo for the hotel reservation/dining plan. Would that work?

If you put her down as 2 she has to be 2 all around. Everyone in the party has to purchase the dining plan (over 2)

This. I also have never been asked my kids ages when we went to Disney before they were 3. They would be in the stroller and we would walk right in no questions asked.

Re: DISNEY QUESTION

If she turns 3 during your trip, she doesn’t need to have tickets. My DD turned 3 in the middle of our trip last year and when I tried buying her tickets they told me that they are considered the age they are from the first day through the entire trip, which was awesome since it saved us a decent amount.

But she wasn’t able to have a dining plan with us, I had to buy her sit downs separate. But if they are buffets, they don’t charge for under 3, and the majority of the character meals are buffet, so we didn’t need to pay for much for her.

I have never once been asked how old my kids are, and we have been to Disney at least 20 times.

you can pass her for under 3 but it will have to be across the board. So if you don't want to buy her a ticket - you can't add the dining plan

I took my Dd for her third bday but when we started the trip she was still 2. No one even looked at her when I stated she was 2. We didn’t do a dining plan, but as far as not buying a ticket you could easily get away w that.

Re: DISNEY QUESTION

Everyone above is correct, they can only be one age in "the system".

I thought about doing this with DS, saying he was 2 when he was 3 because he's tiny but my husband was paranoid someone would ask him how old he was and he would tell the truth and we'd feel bad that we lied. We didn't want to tell him "tell people you are 2". Somewhere my grandmother up in heaven is rolling her eyes, I remember MANY "pretend you're X years old" at various vacation spots, restaurants, etc. Chat Icon

Yup! They honor it even if it's their birthday during the trip. I'd eat the cost of buying her meal separately from the dining plan if it means saving you the cost of the ticket!

Kids meal's are super cheap at Disney, and she would eat free at the buffets under 3.

Agree. We did it once. We just said she was 2 no one said anything. She’s small for her age too..

It happens all day, every day. And yes as a pp said, the kids meals are less then $7 dollars. I was surprised by how cheap they were. And I think it comes with dessert
