So we are going to Florida next week and decided to go to Magic Kingdom for the day. It's so last minute. I have a 2.5 year old and 14 month old, what can we do with them? Can I get fast passes at this point? If so, for what rides? My daughter is 37 inches. I booked Chef Mickey for brunch. Open to any suggestions!! TIA

Chef Mickey is actually outside the gates in the contemporary hotel. I would consider trying to switch it to something inside magic kingdom. My kids loved the crystal palace which was the Winnie the poo characters.
You might still be able to fast pass it’s a small world. They will like that. Then maybe dumbo? My kids were a little older when we first went so I’m not much help. The toy story ride might be cute too.

Re: Disney Experts
I agree with the suggestion to try to book a lunch in the park if you can. At those ages I would concentrate on Fantasyland. I would try to ride-
Peter Pan (do this first if you don't a FP) It's a small world Pooh Little Mermaid Dumbo Barnstormer (for your older one) Teacups Carousel Meet Minnie/Daisy and/or Goofy/Donald- they meet in the circus tent near the Barnstormer
Then if you have time maybe try some rides in Adventureland. Magic Carpets and Jungle Cruise would be a hit at that age. If they're not scared of the dark Pirates is fun.
I would try to get FP for Peter Pan, Pooh and Magic Carpets. You could also try to get one for the Mickey meet on Main Street.
Have fun!

I can't say I'm expert, lol, but I don't book or plan in advance. I like to be flexible with the little ones. We were usually able to get fast passes to some things. I would try to look up what usually has the longest wait times. Peter Pan's flight was always a long wait when we went. The first time we went, enchanted tales with Belle was very long wait, but it was better last year. Do you have girls? You might be able to eat at Cinderellas castle. There were cancellations when we went, so we were able to go last minute.

Dumbo has an awesome indoor play area while you wait to ride. My kids love that area WAY more than the actual ride. There is a small area in the center for 2-3yo's then a climbing area for older kids. I would definitely make a stop there, perfect area for the little one to run around. The above listed rides are all great.

Re: Disney Experts
I always do a day in Disney last minute as part of other trips. We have always booked fast pass the day before. You may not get things like Mine Train, but you will get enough! Focus on who you want to meet (we do Minnie and a princess), and then just enjoy the rest of the day... with a mix of waiting and fast pass!

You can definitely still get fast passes, it just won’t be for the super popular rides. I can email you a fast pass cheat sheet (also lists height requirements) if you FM me your email address.

Re: Disney Experts
I would definitely do Enchanted Tales with Belle, your 2.5 year old would probably really enjoy that. See if there is a fast pass for that. Buzz Lightyear is fun, line moves quickly. Dumbo tent like others have said, is fun to play around in. Meet Minnie and friends over in Storybook Circus tent near Dumbo. Winnie the Pooh is great, Peter Pan's flight, don't bother with unless you have a fast pass, the line moves incredibly slow and is always long. It's a Small World is good for little ones.
You need to purchase your tickets in advance on the website if you want to book fast passes now. Plus, then you don't have to waste your time standing in line when you get there to buy tickets.
Also, since you will be staying off site (I assume) I would get to the transportation and ticket center (parking lot of Magic Kingdom) at least 1 hour before park opening. If you don't get to park close enough, you have to take the tram to the transportation and ticket center, THEN you have to board either the boat or the monorail to get to the park. In addition, there are security lines, which can get long, so the earlier you arrive, the better off you are!!
Oh, and cancel Chef Mickey's...wasting your park time to leave and re-enter for that! See if they have a dinner, or just skip altogether. Crystal Palace has Winnie the Pooh and friends if you can get that. Otherwise, honestly, I would just eat counter service food (they have great choices), because 1.5 hours for a sit down meal eats into your park time when you are there for just a day.

Re: Disney Experts
I would actually keep the Mickey brunch... depending on the time you have it. If it around noon and the park opens early, you can skip the meet Mickey and meet Minnie lines and get lunch in one shot while taking a break from the park. You can also burn through fast passes and rebook new ones and wait for them to become active while eating. 6 rides and a character meal is a great amount to do in a day... add a parade and you are perfect!
We leave Parks for dinner at one of the monorail hotels. It’s a nice break and less crowded. You can also see if you can get something last minute now for lunch.
Don’t forget that the Park day length varies this week as the Xmas party is starting (so be sure you know if it is 7, 10 or even 2am).

I agree with this. We did 2 days in magic kingdom and one of those days there were 12 of us so that was rough. But the second day it was just our family of five and it was perfect! I planned for MONTHS in advance our fast passes and I probably won't do that the next time. Only for things that I know have a long wait time. We got in the park as they were opening. We were able to do all the rides we had fast passes for and more in the first hour or so. So I changed my fast passes. Download the my Disney experience app on your phone and you can see the current wait times of all the rides while you are in the park. Enchanted tales with Belle I would definitely book a fast pass for. It'S a small world I would book a fast pass for in the middle of the day. It's a nice break for the little one's to sit and relax and that definitely gets crowded mid day. I also found Ariel's grotto to be crowded. We were able to meet Mickey first thing in the morning. That was awesome, my kids loved it. I would also try and see if you can do cinderella's castle. Otherwise you have to leave the park and take the monorail over to the contemporary to eat mid-day and if you are on line for a ride, you may have to leave to make your reservation. Otherwise take the monorail over to the contemporary and then take the monorail back.

Re: Disney Experts
Something to keep in mind, Disney is REALLY busy next week, 99.9% of the hotels are sold out. Many people travel that week from NJ since they are off school, and many people make it a Veteran's Day week vacation since a lot are off 2 days next week.

Re: Disney Experts
Thank you all for your help. We went yesterday and had so much fun. We went on dumbo, Winnie the poo, tea cups, small world, buzz, watched the parade and we ate at cinderellas royal table and chef mickeys. I did the 2 character meals bc they needed a break at their age. It was so hot so that break worked out really well. I can see why people love Disney so much. It was great!!
