Late CC payment
Ugh with my kids being sick and one in the hospital I totally forgot to call in my CC payment. I’ve had the card since 06, put a few hundred on it recently (350 to be exact) I rarely use it, maybe 1x a year so it’s not like I have a monthly payment and I totally forgot to call in a payment. I called tonight to pay $100 but it’s 3 days late is this bad? I’m going to call when customer service opens tomorrow. I’m so upset I never pay things late and I can’t believe I forgot

Late CC payment
Call and speak to customer service tonight when you make the payment- if you generally pay on time they will often wave the late fee.

Late CC payment
I've had late fees waived many many times. If you call up and tell them you had a personal hardship they should certainly do it for you this one time.

Re: Late CC payment
bad as in reported to the credit agencies. Usually a one time lateness wont get reported. its repeated lateness. they will probably waive the late fee for you as well if you call and explain what happened.

This.. I pay on time almost all the time. This year I missed a payment and they waived the fees due to excellent history of paying on time.

This. And if you're concerned about it being reported as a late payment, I'm pretty sure it has to be over 30 days late to show on your credit report

Re: Late CC payment
I missed one payment- my debit card, which I use to pay, was compromised and I forgot to update the automatic payment of my CC, and they didn't charge me late fees. Also didn't affect my credit score.

Re: Late CC payment
This happened to me once in the past. I called and explained that I always pay my balances in full, never carry a balance and always always pay on time. I asked that they remove the charge as a courtesy and they did. In general if this is the first time it happened and they can see that you always pay on time, they will remove it as a good customer courtesy. Definitely call and explain the situation.

Late CC payment
Thanks all! I called this morning and they waived the late fee and then just paid the remaining balance so I don’t have to worry next month about a payment! They were very nice about it. I’ve had the card since 06 and never missed a payment so they didn’t give me a hard time thankfully
