Birthday parties at DogAbility Center in Syosset
Has anyone had or attended a birthday party at DogAbility Center in Syosset? My son's 6th birthday is coming up and he LOVES dogs and I came across this while googling party options. Just wondering if anyone can share experiences. Thanks!

I think it's a weird idea if you are inviting classmates. You never know who is allergic, who is afraid of dogs, etc. You could just take your child and a friend there though, I wouldn't do an actual party.

Yes this. DD loves dogs but as a kid I was bit by a dog and was TERRIFIED of them after that for years and years.
And of course there are allergies.
I'm surprised a place like that would even do parties

These parties look like fun. The review on yelp seems to indicate that the kids are taken in small groups to see the dogs, so maybe kids who don't want contact with the dogs could still attend, but just pass on the activities with the dogs. I'd call and ask them how the parties work.

I too just looked into this for my daughter's 6th bday bc she loves dogs and I would love to support the center.. I ultimately decided against it bc im sure some kids dont share her love of dogs (fear, allergy etc). I decided to take her there for a "playdate' type of thing instead.

I agree. We would not attend such a party due to a combo of fear of dogs and allergies.
