another emergency/evacuation reminder

so much keeps happening.
there are LARGE wild fires in california right now. my cousin has had to evacuate her home and our Phyl might have to evacuate if the winds change direction.

you just don't know when these things might happen.

i was starting to get a little lazy in my emergency prep. tonight, i'm going to finalize some of the paperwork i want to have gathered and laminated. during my lunch break, i'm calling SO's mom's doctor for a prescription to have an extra month's worth of her medication in rotation.

please keep being prepared in the foreground of your thoughts!

Good reminder. I had a bit of a wake up call the other night when our fire alarm kept going on and off at 3am thanks to a spider crawling on the sensor. Scared the crap out of me and dh and the next morning my 5yo said she heard it but didn't get up. I assumed she just slept through it. I realized we have really slacked on going over emergency plans with her and need to do that asap.
