Death of an acquaintance
Someone we know just passed away very suddenly in tragic circumstances. He's dh's age. At the same time, an old friend of mine got a devastating cancer diagnosis after beating a different cancer a few years ago.
When things like this happen, it seems to instantly take away any mundane complaints and problems you face. I had some stressful stuff on my plate and I just literally let it go. It's so trivial in the context of what has gone on this weekend. It makes me wonder why can't I let all the trivial stuff go all the time, and in reality, isn't it all trivial? There are people like that, who let everything roll off.
Things like this make you take stock of everything you take for granted on a daily basis. People can just not be there one day.
Clearly i'm having an insomnia night and will be tossing and turning for a while so i'm rambling on the internet in an effort to try to clear my head, again take stock, figure out how to not let the little things take over and just be grateful for breathing and having dh.

Re: Death of an acquaintance
You are a loving and caring person, and that's why this probably hit you so hard. Do something nice or different tomorrow and have a "special day" just because. sending you hugs

Re: Death of an acquaintance
Sending you hugs. I'm sorry for your loss.
Sometimes good comes from the bad. In this case, it made you realize how to let go of trivial things. It''s amazing when that weight gets lifted.
I hope that your friend kicks cancer''s as again !
