Packing question
We are leaving next Friday for a Disney Cruise! We are super excited and it is the first time we are flying with our 3 year old DS. We are flying into Tampa the day before and then driving to the port. My DH and I are debating how much stuff to take. We were thinking of taking 1 25 inch suitcase each for my DH and I, plus a carry on size suitcase for my DS. Plus his stroller. We are worried how it'll be carrying everything. We are going to trying to consolidate and just take the one big suitcase and the carry on, or just the 2 big suitcases. What do you guys think? How do you manage it? I bought packing cubes on Amazon Prime day if that helps lol.

Packing question
Fun! We usually have 3 suitcases and backbacks for the kids. It's super easy for an adult to push two suitcases, so I don't think you will have an issue. I'm one person with 2 kids, and I'm the one usually rolling two suitcases and have my carryon huge tote strapped on! I would probably skip the stroller though, unless it's an umbrella type. Strollers are not needed on the cruise, and really a pain anyway since the halls are very narrow!

Thanks- yeah it's an umbrella stroller that has a carrying strap as well and folds easily.

Re: Packing question
On a trip where we have to fly, I will use the larger suitcase for me and DD to share and then DH will use a smaller suitcase. DD's clothes and shoes don't take up much space and she doesn't need nearly as many toiletries as I do so we are find to share a medium/large suitcase. This way we only have 2 checked bags to worry about. Our carry on is usually just bathing suits in case we get to the hotel and the room isn't ready and we want to change and go by the pool, and things to keep her occupied on the plane.

Re: Packing question
I normally pack 1 carry one per person (kids have had and carried their own suitcase from the age of 2). At 3, they each got a backpack too filled w goggles, a shovel and bucket and a blanket/toy/etc.
I find we always overpack even with that # of suitcases. I put us all in a lot of cotton dresses that are comfy and formal enough for any occasion. I tend to live in my bathing suit and cover up. That should leave enough space for a few costumes!!!

Packing question
We did a Disney cruise a few months ago. I had one large suitcase, DH took a medium, and DD had a carry on sized suitcase.
I didn't see anyone using a stroller on the actual ship, but it's good to have for the airport.

Re: Packing question
We did a 7-night Disney - me, DH, and 2DS. We took one large suitcase and one small suitcase and a small carry on. I definitely packed a lot but it was good bc the 4 of us changed for dinner almost every night. I don't have girls so no princess dresses to take up space. Kids shorts and tees don't take up a lot of room and neither do mine. My boys each had 4 swimsuits. I packed everything I needed, there was plenty of space in our cabin to store our luggage. Have a great time, we LOVED it!

Re: Packing question
We had 2 big suitcases, a suitor, and a small suitcase, p,us carry-ons, a car seat on the wheely rack, and an umbrella stroller. We flew into Orlando and so all our bags went from JFK straight to our rooms for us, so we didn't have to go through the ship terminal with them. I can't speak for that, but I will say that the room had PLENTY of space for all the bags (stored under the bed). Also, we came home with souvenirs, just to keep in mind. Have fun!

That's why I wanted to fly into Orlando initially so we wouldn't have to deal with the bags. But we decided to fly in the day before. And Tampa was significantly cheaper to fly into than Orlando. What did you do with the car seat on the ship? Good to know that you had plenty of room to store the luggage.

The carseat should fit in the closet, unless it's a huge carseat. I met a family who had to wear cruise ship clothes from the gift shop all week since their bags never made it from their plane to the ship, so I wouldn't worry about missing out on that LOL. The porters at the terminal will take your bags (you need to tip them, they don't work for Disney). You don't even have to take them out of the trunk, they will do that. Easy peasy. If you get there early (we always get there before the terminal opens, regardless of our port arrival time), then you can park in the garage, and the porter will come to your car. If you get there at like 10am or later, you can just pull up to the curb and the porters will get them there.

Re: Packing question
We ended up just leaving the car seat in the corner by the closet. It wasn't in the way at all and we even had room for the diaper genie that they gave us right in front of it.
Just random tip: best thing we did was bring an over th door pocket organizer (like the one for shoes), but took off the hooks and wove a ribbon through the holes (Disney doesn't allow over the door hooks). We hung this on th hook in the room and put all the diaper stuff andnsunscreens in there. That thing was a lifesaver.
