I'm in vacation hell.
Vacationing for 2 weeks with DH and friends at our timeshare. It takes forever to get everything ready to go to the pool, go to the market, go to dinner. DH and friends are more interested in getting the wi-first to work so they can be on FB or play games.
Maybe it bothers me because I am not retired like the rest, but I didn't come to the Caribbean to sit in a freaking condo for hours.
I cooked a full breakfast this morning, cleaned up, got myself ready then got the cooler packed with drinks. Then waited for everyone else to get their asses moving.
Tomorrow I will make myself a bagel and coffee, go down to the pool early by myself. I Want To Be Alone !

I agree! I would be pissed sitting inside & waiting when paradise is right outside! Do your own thing!

I would hate to wait and sit around too... vacations are so short!

Oh hell no! I'd have been out the door when I was ready. It's one thing if they're trying to get ready too, but if they're just sitting around on their phones I'd tell them I'll see you at the beach/pool/wherever.

I'm in vacation hell.
When we go on vacation with others I never wait for anyone unless its for a dinner reservation. I tell people where I'll be and they can come when they want.

This is exactly why I refuse to vacation with family and/or friends. No one goes at my speed. I would be (and have been) so frustrated that it ends up not feeling or being a vacation.

Thank you for your replies. I told DH, never again. We've been away with this couple before,but it has never been like this. She wants us to go to Aruba with them in September. I have just enough PTO for various doctor''s appointments, then the Fridays in December. I'm not losing a week''s pay for another vacation from hell.

been there, done that.
i experienced the same thing, with a twist, when SO and the crew go camping. i spent two weeks planning, shopping, cooking prepping.
i was told that they go "camping," not "glamping"... but they sure as hell ate all my food and then bitched.
this year, i'm doing what you're planning: taking care of myself and leaving them to their own devices.
go out there, enjoy yourself!
i hope tomorrow's update is about how you enjoyed paradise and the silence of doing it alone.

We all went to the beach today. Bagel breakfast, I made wraps for lunch, packed the cooler and we were all out the door by 10.
I snorkeled with another friend, swam with turtles, while DH and the others hung out.
Good day, even though it rained for a while at the beach.
BBQing tonight with everyone. Got 8 for dinner and drinks tonight.
Different beach again tomorrow.
