Renting a house in Florid or hotel

I would love to plan a get away with my DH and 3 young kids in Florida. I have family there in the Jupiter and West Palm beach area. Im looking at houseps to rent but Im going back and forth wondering if a hotel is cheaper. I would need a suite if we stayed at a hotel but a house seems ideal especially if it has a pool. What is killing me in price is the airfare for 5 of us and I would need a car a minivan. I keep looking for the best deals but Im not finding anything.

Your trip sounds like the trip I just came back from. lol.
Need a suite, pool, minivan. That's how we ended with a hotel. We also like having a full kitchen and not many hotels have that now.

I just came back from FL.
I rented a house (in Inverness) because it was cheaper than a hotel (for that area). It was 3 bedroom, 3 bath, fully stocked kitchen, garage, pool. It was a dream. It was on a golf course too.
Found it through hotels.com. Would definitely do that again (in another part of FL too).

Regarding a minivan, I went through Costco and it was significantly cheaper than Expedia.
