Should I quit potty training
This is kid #3. I did 3 day method will all the kids. Worked for the other 2 in 3 days. We had accidents, but nothing like this:
We almost had it with #3. She'd tell us when she needed to go... but now she stopped, refuses that she needs to go and then pees in underwear or on floor. She says "no, no, pee pee in potty" when she does pee on floor... but then does it again. She's in underwear outside, currently naked in house (she did make it to undies, but prefers to be naked) and diapers at night while sleeping. She pees EVERY time she's in the car seat. Even if a few drops. Other kids never did this. She's young (22 months), but they all were when I trained them. It's been a month (but she's getting worse). She does poop only in potty and will do it by herself and show me. Any ideas? I don't want to quit... but I'm thinking quit and try again later. Not sure what to try at this point.

Re: Should I quit potty training
I think she's not ready. Just because the others were ready that young, doesn't mean she is. Every kid is different IMO it's not worth it to force the issue if she is only getting worse. But I'm a very go with the flow person and very much of the mindset that kids do things when they are ready and when they are there is very little pain involved.

It sounds like she's absolutely not ready. She's not even 2, so it's not like most kids this age are trained--I think you definitely were lucky with your first two. I know it's hard not to compare kids but I would let it go for the time being.

Should I quit potty training
My DS was the same way at about 2 years, 4 months. I backed off and he trained in ONE day at 2 years, 9 months.

Re: Should I quit potty training
She isn't two years old, and it sounds like she is really not ready yet. My boys were three before they were trained so I think you were just really lucky with your other two. I would quit for now and try again in a few months if she's showing signs of readiness.

That sounds young, even if you did successfully train your other kids at that age. I would probably wait. I tried around age 2-2.5 with my dd and it was just stressing us both out. So I waited a few more months and then it went so quickly and smoothly. She was trained in about 1 or 2 days, fully - pee & poop & overnights with only very occasional accidents. I was very happy I waited.

I think she's not ready although I don't know whether I would take that advice myself on your shoes lol. My first seemed so ready early on but refused until she turned 3 and then trained in an hour.
I tried to avoid the fear and flat refusal with my second so I started at 23 months with her. It took a few weeks before she really caught on but it's been 7 or 8 months and she still has accidents! It's very frustrating that we still go through these cycles where she'll stop telling us she has to go and will start having accidents. It seems like she's just had so many for so long that she doesn't see it as a big deal. However, she's great when we're out and has no trouble with naps and nighttime. Peeing in the car every time is where you really got me thinking she's just not ready.

Re: Should I quit potty training
Since she is pooping in the potty I don't know if I would completely give up. My suggestion would be to use a pull so she can still go to bathroom easily and if she does have an accident it is easier to clean up. I would still bring her to the potty in the am, before going out, and at night but not force the issue.

I think this sounds like a good compromise. Today, while out, she asked to use potty a bunch of times... but it's so inconsistent. I love the poop success. First time for everything...
