Travel insurance?
I booked and paid for a NCL cruise for this August.
I am wondering if it's too late to look into travel insurance. A close family member is very sick, and I'm sick with worry about this family member passing away within days of my trip and having to cancel my trip.
I have an AmEx card so I'm looking into their coverage, but was wondering if anyone knew of any other travel insurance companies that offer coverage for this type of thing.
TIA

You have to purchase travel insurance within a certain time frame from paying.

That's what I thought, but i'm putting my booking date into Travelguard and AmEx for a quote and it's not saying it's too late to book.

I'd call and talk to someone. Make sure it covers pre-existing conditions considering someone is already sick. And cancel for any reason.

Agree. Talk to someone to make sure you can get the right policy for the situation.

This company is highly recommended on the cruise critic website. I haven't used them because I have always bought insurance within fourteen days of booking travel but they are recommended a lot when people have insurance needs that are out of the ordinary. Also, you may want to post this on cruise critic so you can learn about other people's experiences. GL!

Travel insurance?
this happened right before my trip to Europe last summer. My grandmother was diagnosed with cancer 2 months before we left. We booked travel insurance about a month prior to the day - they did have stipulations as to who it would cover in relation to you - parent, spouse, etc. My travel agent recommended it and didn't seem concerned that we bought it after we knew she had a terminal diagnosis. We did not have to use it as my grandmother passed a week before our trip. I hope your situation works out!

Re: Travel insurance?
Travel insurance usually only covers direct relatives.
