Passports
We are going on a cruise in Feb and all 3kids need their passports. Where do I go to get this done? Does DH have to come too?

I got our pictures done at Walgreens, printed the paperwork from online, made an appt at the post office and then they sent it out for us. DH had to come with us. But I believe if he can't make it, you can get the papers notarized.

Call your local post office for an appointment. You can fill in the application online
https://travel.state.gov/content/passports/en/passports/apply.html
I stopped in the Post Office less than 2 weeks ago with my application and birth certificate. They were able to process it right then, took my pic, and my Passport came within 10 days! I didn't even pay for expedited service, so it is super speedy right now!

Re: Passports
for the kids you either both need to be present of DH needs to sign a form and have it notarized that he is giving permission for the kids to get one. I just got my DD's at the town hall. they take the picture there and have the applications etc. you will need all the appropriate documents when you go so it can be sent out right there.
you can also do it at certain post offices too. the one by me that does them was useless though honestly when i went to renew mine last year.

Every time someone posts about passports, I remember I should get them for the kids...and then I forget. Thanks for the reminder : )

Re: Passports
Not sure where you live but town of oyster bay does it (you do not need to be a tob resident). They did pictures and everything there, no appointment needed. Both parents need to be present, or you have to download and complete a form (I believe it must be notarized) if only one parent is going to apply.
I completed the forms for my dds online, printed them, and then DH and I took them to tob. We were in and out in 15 min.
You also need a few checks (for passports, and then for fees)

Your DH does have to go with you or he can sign and notarize an affidavit that you print online.
