LIRR Commuters
For those of you that commute how are you going to be affected by the new schedule. My train the 5:19pm was canceled so I will be leaving work at 4:45pm to take the 5:03pm. Something tells me this is going to be worse than anticipated..

My usual train is the 5:11. It too was cancelled and combined and now local. (I am the last stop). I spoke to my boss and I have adjusted my work hours for the summer. I am now coming in earlier and leaving before the first rush hour train as usually on my line they don't usually cancel the off peak, they start cancelling with the first peak one.

All my trains are still running. I'm sure there might be crowding issues but I am goign to speak with my boss about working from home 2 days a week during this.

My 5:14 to will now leave from Hunterspoint.
I have to incur a subway charge to get to Hunterspoint since I can't walk there like I do to Penn.
Mornings there is no change to my train.
Yet.

My usual train in the morning now goes to Atlantic Terminal, so i'll be taking the one right after it but now have to change at JAmaica in order to get a train to Penn. That's annoying.
Annd my train coming home has been combined with another train, which means its going to be friggin packed every day and that sukkkks balls

And yeah it was dubbed the "summer of hell" bc of the Amtrak work taking one of the tunnels out of service. Two commuters already filed a civil suit.

I don't take the LIRR but this sounds like a complete total nightmare for those that do. I smell a class action suit and rightfully so. The LIRR/MTA should either discount the fare heavily or refund people's money every time there is a service issue. You'd see them shape up QUICK! I know its easier said than done but something has to give!

I'm not really buying this schedule they put out. It hasn't even started yet and last night trains cancelled due to a stalled train....or signal problems. They can't even get their excuse right. I have a feeling this is going to be bad.

I feel for everyone dealing with this! I commuted for 15 years and my company thankfully lets me work from home now. LIRR is terrible and pricing is out of control.
