Sex offender registry

Did anybody else get this email from the Megan's law group?

ACTION ALERT
YOUR LAST CHANCE TO RESTORE THE SEX OFFENDER RESIDENCY RESTRICTION LAW IN NY
Calls Must Be Made Starting Wednesday (6/14)
Sex offenders who forcibly raped, sodomized, or sexually victimized CHILDREN as young as 7 years old are moving in right
across the street from elementary schools right here in Suffolk and Nassau and across NY!

CALL THESE FIVE NY ASSEMBLY REPS WHO HAVE THE POWER TO PASS THIS CRITICAL LAW

1. Speaker Carl E. Heastie (518) 455-3791 & his local office: (718) 654-6539
2. Majority Leader Joseph D. Morelle (518) 455-5373 & his local office: (585) 467-0410
3. Deputy Majority Leader Phil Ramos (518) 455-5185 & his local office: (631) 435-3214
4. Chair Corrections Committee David Weprin (518) 455-5806 & his local office: (718) 805-2381
5. Assemblywoman Kimberly Jean-Pierre (518) 455-5787 & her local office: (631) 957-2087

WHAT TO SAY
1. I SUPPORT Senate Bill S5201 and Assembly Bill A1651A
2. The Assembly must change state law to restore the authority counties across NY have to reasonably restrict where sex offenders live and protect the “Community Protection Act to keep the sex offender registry up to date.

If you want background information and examples of sex offenders living too close to schools go to: www.parentsformeganslaw.org/residency_restriction
Please let us know each time you have called by sending a return email to me at this email address!

Best,
