Outdoor Communion this Weekend
I am attending a Communion party tomorrow that is being held outdoors. Apparently they are having an enclosed tent with heaters. I'm wondering how I should dress myself and the kids (We are not attending the Church)?? Do heaters really keep the tent warm? TIA!

Eeek. It's going to be sideways rain..
Editing. The heaters will keep the tent warm, but it's going to stink getting to and from the tent.

It will be warm but it will be muddy and gross and wet getting to and from the tent to go to the bathroom etc. Rain boots.
And how sad is it that we need HEATERS to be outside in the freakin MIDDLE OF MAY
I hate living here.

Re: Outdoor Communion this Weekend
I would either go to the church and hand my gift over and go home before the party or just mail a gift with my regrets. It is supposed to be a nor'easter wind and rain situation tomorrow. I can't see being outside in a tent as a safe option. If you have to go, layers, rain boots, thermal pants under pants that are stuck into rain boots and many layers. Honestly, I feel for the communion child and family, but they really should reschedule or find an indoor venue.

Re: Outdoor Communion this Weekend
As of now still in the tent, they will move indoor if needed. We've decided not to go. Not worth driving in pouring rain for 2 1/2-3 hours each way with 2 small kid- it's not safe.

Re: Outdoor Communion this Weekend
I attended an outdoor communion this weekend too. It was only partially enclosed and not heated. Such a mess. You couldn't sit in the seats near the wall of the tent because where the wall and ceiling of the tent connects had a gap and water was just pouring in. We made the best of it but i wasn't thrilled to be sitting there with two 2 yr olds for 3+hrs
