Invite whole daycare class to party?

2 questions.....

Do you invite whole class to 3 year old birthday party?

Do you hand invitations out at school or do you mail? (I have addresses on the class list)

Invite whole daycare class to party?

My DD has 10 kids in her class. Anytime we have been asked to a party the invite is in the book bag and the entire class is invited.

Yes, this. Whole class, and brought the invites in to go into their cubbies. Same with the thank you notes.

There are 17 kids in ds1's class. He's turning 4 on Thu. When I was planning his party, there was no way I was able to invite his whole class, his outside friends, and cousins. So I asked him who he'd like to invite to his party and he named 7, or 8 kids. I asked his teachers if these kids are the ones he interacts with the most because I didn't wanna leave out anybody that he hangs out with a lot. The teacher confirmed the list. Once I did the invites, I gave them to the teacher and she put them in the kids' backpacks. The actual day of his bday falls on a day that he goes to school, and I'm planning in baking cupcakes and send them to the whole class to celebrate.

Invite whole daycare class to party?

Not in daycare, but nursery school. We invite the whole class (and the other class the same age).

Our school won't let you bring in invites to hand out at school unless every kid is included.

DD just had her 2nd birthday party this past weekend -- we invited everyone in her class (11 kids) by putting invites in their cubbies at school. Out of the 11 invited, 7 RSVP'd yes and one parent texted the day of saying they weren't going to be able to make it because their child was sick, so 6 came in total. This time of year is hard with making it to all invited events -- birthdays, graduations, communions, baby showers, bridal showers, etc. If you invite the whole class, I think you'll likely have 50% to 60% attendance. Nephew's party was almost the same -- 13 invited and 7 RSVP'd yes.

We just went to a birthday party for my DS (he's 3). The whole class was invited. I'd say at least 75-80% of the kids came.

ETA: the teacher attached the invite to their daily sheet.

Re: Invite whole daycare class to party?

Sorry, I forgot to add that this year, dd wanted girls only so we just invited the girls in her class. It's a little different this year because she's in a nursery school with a class mom and we got class lists with addresses so we mailed invites home. But at a young age, i would always do either all class or all girls and not start picking and choosing. IMO, this is how the conversations start about including everybody and not making anyone feel left out. Once they are older and understand the ideas of friendship, and kids have legitimate friendship circles, then it can shift.

We didn't since our daycare doesn't move the class all together - we just invited the kids they typically move with. After including outside friends and all - it would have just been too much.

ETA - We also celebrated his b-day in school with cupcakes and goody bags with the whole class.

Yes I always invite the whole class. I feel bad not doing this. My lists for both my kids are big because of this but I suck it up and just hope that not everyone say yes Chat Icon

I also just hand out invites in school but I also never had a mailing list for anyone.

This is exactly what I did. I also brought some goody bags to the day care celebration (sidewalk chalk in a cello bag) so that all the kids were celebrating her birthday.

At 3, yes, we invite the whole class. The teacher puts the invites in each kid's backpack.

We invite the whole class. Especially since they are so small you know they will speak about the party in class and I would not want anyone feeling left out.

Re: Invite whole daycare class to party?

We'll be inviting the whole class plus some of his friends in other classrooms and ones who no longer go to daycare, but are friendly with DS and invite him to their parties. The list will be pretty big, but with vacations and other plans, I expect a decent number of no's. DS is graduating from his preschool class 2 weeks before his party and will be moving up to the K class for the summer, but his current class contain the kids who he has spent most of the year with.

We were invited to one bday this year and the invite was mailed to the house (not in the book bag). Only a few kids from school attended so i assume they only invited the childs school "friends"
My son is 3 and in nursery school
