Cruise

I am debating a cruise and I have a 4 year old son and also my parents and boyfriend. I know nothing about them since I have never been on one. Any help would be great. I just know I would prefer to go out of NY or NJ. The only think I would want is a room with a balcony anything else I am very simple. TIA

we have been on Anthem of the seas, Royal Carribean last oct w my 3 year old son and going again this December

We loved it, the camps, activities, shows etc

my son is 6.5, and we've been on 4 cruises with him
We did the NCL Breakaway out of NYC right after he turned 3.
We did a RC cruise out of NYC when he was like 3.5 (Canadian cruise with my ILs, they paid which is why it was so soon after the other one LOL)
We did a Disney Cruise out of FL when he was 4.
AND we did another DCL cruise when he was 5.
we have another DCL cruise booked for November, too.

They're not for everybody. some people just don't like being "trapped" on the ocean. But, we love them. its so nice to have everything taken care of for the week. they feed you tons of food, nice dinners every night with appetizer and dessert, they clean your room twice a day ( in the morning, and then "turn down" service at night). the kids (3 and over) can go to the kid's club while you hang out by the quiet pool for a while or go get a spa treatment (although those aren't included LOL )
for us, its a true vacation- to just float around on the ocean for a few days and be spoiled a little bit
Let me know what questions you have since we've been on a couple different cruise lines

We LOVE the Disney Cruise. The Magic is departing from NYC this fall.
