Tortola excursions DCL with kids
I was just wondering if anyone has any recommendations or input regarding excursions for Tortola. We will have a 4 year old and 1.5 year old with us. I'm a highly anxious person so I'd rather book directly through Disney. None of the excursions seem particularly appealing, especially after eliminating things we just can't do with the two lo's. Thanks for any input!

Tortola excursions DCL with kids
The one time I went to Tortola on a cruise, we went to the Baths in Virgin Gorda, which were amazing, but I don't know if I'd do it with kids that young because there is a bit of a hike down to the beach and then you have to go back up. Plus to go to the Baths, you have to climb over and under and through these big boulders. Not quite sure how I did it myself lol. But there is a beach without going through the boulders.
I've heard that Jost Van Dyke beach is gorgeous. Do they offer a day trip to St. Johns? I've also heard that was nice and I think when I cruised to Tortola, that was an option.

The baths excursion starts at age 5. That's definitely what we'd be doing if there were no kids - it looks amazing! The next day the cruise stops at st Thomas/st johns. I will look into jost van dyke beach, thanks!

Tortola excursions DCL with kids
we're going on the same cruise in November Eastern carribean on the Fantasy?? LOL and we're trying to figure out the same thing. we'll have a 3 year old DS, and our older DS will turn 7 on the cruise. so the excusion to the Bath's through Disney will be out for us, too. I had read reviews of people taking the water taxi on their own to go to the Bath's... thats what we might do. what do you plan to do on St. Thomas day? we'll probably just go to one of the beaches that day... when are you going? would be funny if we're on the same sailing HAHA

That's so funny! We will be going in July - dh and I both work in schools so we can really only go on vacation in the summers. But yeah, fantasy/eastern Caribbean! We're not really beach people (my 4 year old has never even been to a beach, lol), so as of now we are leaning towards the excursions that are more general tours. DH loves history, so he wants to see things and learn about the islands. We considered the aquarium, but figured our girls are too young, they wouldn't think it any more special or unique than the ones in NY.

I don't know that I would even do the Baths with a 5 year old...I think it could be too much for a lot of 5 year olds unless they are very comfortable with the water.
Tortola has beautiful beaches, but if that isn't your thing, Pusser's Landing and Soper's Hole are both neat areas to explore, and you could have a Pusser's Painkiller at one of the local bars...I don't know that there is a ton to do that is super interesting for kids there, but maybe a tour that gives you some time to shop and eat would be interesting?

Fun! You'll have to give me tips when you get back!! Older DS will be in 1st grade. But we live in NJ- so in November there's a week he has off school Tuesday for Election Day, AND that Thursday and Friday too- so his teachers can go to the NJ teachers convention. So we can go away that week and he'll only miss 2 days of school
You have me curious to go see what they offer. We're beach people- but we just adopted DS 2 ( he's 3 years old) so we're not sure if he is or not! Might be good to have back up plans!! Have fun!!!!! And I'll try to remember to check in in July for some tips!! Lol

Sounds good! We will be in touch! Now I'm leaning towards the excursion that does a short tour and an hour at a beach.
