Only with like minded people who I'm friendly with outside of the office. I work in a large law firm.

Re: do you discuss politics at work ?

Only with coworkers I know are like-minded (which I think are all - small office.)
I try to keep it sort of quiet because if the bosses are not on the same side (not really sure sine they never discuss at all), I don't want them to be annoyed to hear us talking about it. I know it bugs me to hear people bash my beliefs even if they aren't speaking directly to me.

I work in technology too Chat Icon and yes I try to only talk to people who I am friendly with out of the office that are on the same page as I am. Though it has come up in a get together a couple times and I really try to refrain from saying anything and hope someone switches topics quickly.

Re: do you discuss politics at work ?

Yup. A lot.

But it would be really rare to find anyone who supports Trump here.

Same (I work in theatre)...there is a very small handful of Trump supporters here.

We discuss politics a lot in common areas. We always have, though. It's not just because of this administration.

No not at all. My boss has different political views than I do so I don't voice my opinion.

I worked at a large corporate bank and no we did not discuss politics at work. If we were out to lunch then maybe but never at work unless something was directly affecting our business.

My husband works for a large technology company and he and his team do not talk politics in the work office. There is a large group of younger workers who do speak politics all day long, and loudly. They were reported to HR. They were not just discussing though, they were being very vulgar and rude (not trump supporters). Politics should never be discussed in the office, you are there to work. Do it on break or after work.

Mostly just with a couple of people who I am friendly with and who I know are like minded. I know my boss is not like minded, and very occasionally we will have a brief discussion, but never in any great detail and it's usually pretty "light hearted" - relatively speaking

Re: do you discuss politics at work ?

I try not to, I have a friend who has opposite views of what I and another friend have, and when he starts on one of his tirades, we quickly change the subject or just tune him out.
I work in an corporate environment for a foreign company.

The politics do and have the potential affect us negatively, especially the changes that the Cheetoh in Charge is proposing.

I work in advertising - its a pretty creative liberal industry so nothing is frowned upon as far as office topics!

Re: do you discuss politics at work ?

Yes, it comes up. We generally know who sits where. I have never had a problem talking to my boss about politics, even though we're different parties. He's rational, so the conversations are also rational.

Aside from that, I usually will only talk politics with like-minded people in my office.

Yes, but I work for a very liberal non-profit organization and the vast majority of people in my office share the same political views.

I do, but only because everyone is like minded.

I teach in a NYC high school that serves low income students.

Almost as blue as it gets!

Not on a personal level. How it affects our industry and business is something that is talked about consistently.

Re: do you discuss politics at work ?

Every .....

FRACKING....

DAY!!!!!!

I am an insurance broker/agent.

Been told I shouldn't have voted at all. Should have stayed home. I am anti-female, anti-Free Choice, Anti-Hispanic. I am useless.. a bad example for my daughter. I am what is wrong with this country. I am going to pay for my stupidity. I am racist. I am bigot. I am a moron. Why did I leave NYC, where they should have taught me better. Anything I say is just another trump supporting stupidity. Even if I agree with her, I am stupid.

Amazingly I am not alone. 3 or 4 of us women actually didn't want Hilary as president. The amount of hate we get spewed at us day after day has made us enjoy the moments of TRUMP RULES we get to yell back at the protesters in front of our building. Or making fun of the protesters posters to watch our coworkers squirm. Today (every Tuesday they protest) one of them screamed Women for Trump!

I don't do it myself, but the other women PURPOSELY and LOUDLY play all of his speeches and news conferences on speaker when ever they are live.

All this and ironically the majority of those who didn't vote for Hilary didn't really want Trump and nearly everyone in our office voted in the democratic primary. Oh the joys of politics.

Me I'm so freaking over it. I just shut up unless insulted or asked my opinion. My favorite was the show down between me and a guy coworker who just assumed I'd not support transgender, when I do and further I destroyed his idiotic reasoning against it. One of my less aggressive anti trump coworkers loved that one.

Some of us don't want this stupid party line crap. But it's so annoying. IN A BLUE TOWN!

Thankfully the bosses are quick to shut down most of the major bs if found out. Both voted trump but both due to just not liking Hilary not "FOR TRUMP" so it's been interesting.

No.

Unless someone brings it up first (I will NEVER initiate) and is like minded I might say "right, 45 is the worst".

Otherwise absolutely not.
