Credit Card with Travel Points

Does anyone recommend any card in general? I'm reading reviews but I'd love some first hand information.

We have the Capital One Venture One card.

I like that you can redeem it for any airline- no black out dates. You can also redeem it for hotels and I like that you aren't limited to one hotel brand..

We only got it a few months ago so we haven't redeemed anything yet but I know people who have had it for years and they say it's super easy to redeem points and if you already booked your hotel, lets say, they will just credit your card back if you call and say you want to use points to pay for it.

We did a lot of research and this one seemed to be best for us.

We love our Starwood Amex - we accumulate Starpoints for stays at Starwood hotels or they can be used for flights.

The only caveat now is that Starwood is owned by Marriott. It's nice because you get a nice exchange rate for Marriott points but, I am not sure how long that will last.

We have the regular Amex Gold - I can transfer points to wherever I need them, and also the Amex SPG (Starwood) because we have a Starwood timeshare.

We have the regular Amex Gold card too. I love that we are not locked into only travel points. I love the "pay with points" feature.

I have the Citibank Hilton Surpass AmEx. I've had a Citibank Hilton Visa for years previously and have gotten so much bang for my Hilton points bucks. Nearly every vacation we take (1 a year) we always are able to stay at a Hilton or Embassy Suite for the entire trip (sometimes 9 nights) completely free.

I jumped from Visa to AmEx b/c they were having a 100,000 point signing bonus if you spent and paid off $3K in the first 3 months.

This is the only card I use other than my Kohl's card for tiny purchases. Use it for groceries, CVS, gas, everything. The points rack up in no time.

My parents have Capital One and we've used that for airline travel too.

We have the Amex Delta skymiles card. We put EVERYTHING on it, and coupled with a lot of business travel, we rack up a ton of miles and fly for free quite a bit.

I have the Delta Amex as well.

Next flight we take will probably be free. It aquires miles.....not technically points (sorta speak).

We travel to Florida on Southwest several times a year, so we use the Southeest Visa card. We get lots of miles and we have a companion pass. Every time I fly with DH, my ticket is free.
