transitioning off of alimentum question

DD is 6 months old, and has been on alimentum since 5-6weeks old. It has been covered by my insurance, but I don't think my new insurance, GHI, is going to cover it anymore. I get one more month of formula delivered in a couple of days.

My GI said over the phone that they can try to cover it, but that around 7 months she normally suggests trying to switch back to regular formula. Anyone have experience doing this, and was it ok? Also, what formula did you switch to?

No, but my DD was on alimentum until she was a year and we just put her on whole milk cold turkey. She was fine but she'd already had yogurt and cheese.

I probably could have put her on regular formula earlier.

I thought insurance had to cover it in NYS?

transitioning off of alimentum question

Jillian was on Nutramigen and i slowly switched her back to regular formula. I used Rite aid brand because its cheaper and if it didnt go ok i didnt want to spend 30 on a tub of formula i wasnt going to use. Rite aid is $15 for the same size tub.

not sure about the insurance.. I am on the empire plan now and it's covered 100%. i get 12 cans/month. I am switching to GHI though, and I'm not sure how easy it is to get it covered. I am definitely going to try, though
