55 and Over Communities in Nassau
Looking for a family member for 55 and Over condos in Nassau - there are slim pickings... and there's so many in Suffolk. Any suggestions greatly appreciated, thanks!

MEadowbrook Pointe is the only one I know of! Interested to see if there are many others.

Re: 55 and Over Communities in Nassau
What is the budget?
There are The Seasons communities (but they can be pricey)... in East Meadow, Plainview.
The Bellaire in East Meadow is nice, too, but it's more of an apartment building (not a town home style). But has lots of amenities... doormen, pool, gym, activities.

My in-laws looked at seasons but thought it was a lot of money for what you get, meaning small place and high taxes.

I think there are 2 in Melville: The Club and The Greens ETA: I just realized you said nassau, but Melville is really just over the border

Re: 55 and Over Communities in Nassau
My grandma lives in Snug Harbor in Amityville and its beautiful and taxes there are pretty low. She has a lagoon behind her condo and you can see the baby ducks and swans walk and swim around. They have a pool, a library, activities etc and a stop and shop is just down the street. She has been there about 15 years and is very happy there -- she also had trouble finding somewhere in Nassau but wanted to stay close to family. My other grandma lives in a community out in Sayville (forgot the name) and likes it too but its obviously far away from Nassau

Thanks for all the input. They have been looking at the Seasons and are liking them, but agree that they are small. Meadowbrook Point is too expensive for them, although gorgeous and have tons to offer. The Country Pointe units look beautiful but also too pricey. Looking to spend under $500k.
