Question about passport
My current passport is in my maiden name and even though I've been married for almost 9 years I have continued to use it. Now it's getting time to renew/replace it and I can't find it.
So, I can find info on replacing a lost passport.
And I can find info on changing my name on a passport and/or renewing an existing passport.
But how do I go about doing both? Do I just apply for a new passport with my married name and make sure to bring my marriage cert?

Re: Question about passport
If it's expired less than 5 years, you can do it by mail.
The form is online or you can get it from the post office.
You need to send in your original marriage license, 2 pics, the application, your old passport, and of course a check for whatever it is ($110 maybe?)
It'll take a few weeks. Your marriage license will come back separate from the passport.
It's very easy.

Except I can't find my original passport.
And I don't see anything online about how to proceed without that, considering I need to renew AND change my name.

Re: Question about passport
I'm not 100% sure but I would think you would proceed as if you were getting a brand new passport..

Re: Question about passport
First you need to go online and report that passport lost/stolen. You must do that before you can apply for a renewal.
THEN you can apply for a renewal (after confirmation that your passport was reported lost). You apply for the renewal but fill in your married name and supply your original marriage certificate. The form is easy to follow.
