Do you tip every single worker that comes to your house?
We usually do when we have some kind of work done to our house. Today I had the door company come and fix some things on doors we had installed a couple of years ago. I found out some things were wrong with installation. We had terrible drafts in expensive doors. There was no charge and the guy was here an hour. I wasn't going to tip for such a short service call but felt like maybe he was looking for one. He walked off and said something I couldn't hear. Would you tip for something like this? Not sure what the norm is for something like this.

Do you tip every single worker that comes to your house?
Eh maybe $5? I dunno...I wouldn't have gone out of my way to tip him but if I had a few buck I would have. My husband is a laborer and he generally tells me who to tip when we have people do work at the house.

No - as another poster said, people are over board on tipping.
If someone goes above and beyond what is being paid for already, then i may tip. But usually you're already paying for a service, so why pay more?

If you are back at my house to fix something at should have been done right the first time you are not getting a tip.
I tip delivery people on a sliding scale. Food is a lower price point than a couch or dish washer because they are heavier and require a lot more work.
Installers that do not own the company and come into my home get tipped too. If you own the company, like my plumber, hvac, or electrician who all own their own companies do not get tipped.
Hair stylist and mani/pedi, and hotel maid, waiter/waitress all get tipped. If I pick up my food I do not tip.
I do not tip concierges.
