5-point booster vs. car seat
Assuming a child's weight/height fall safely in the range for both a 5-point booster and a regular convertible car seat, is one safer than the other?
Just trying to figure out logistics for additional cars, grandparent cars, etc.
Tia!

To me a 5 point harness is a 5 point harness so if you're using it, and the booster option is cheaper and the child is forward facing, then go for it.

The convertible rear faces so if you're not going to rear face, why buy a seat with a function you won't use, you know?

i think the biggest thing is that the 5 point booster can't go rear facing. so if you're not rear-facing anymore anyway, a 5-point booster would be just as safe i would think (like somebody else said- a 5 point is a 5 point lol) i switched my son from his car seat to a booster with a 5-point when he was about 4. the booster sits lower to the car's seat and was WAY easier for him to climb in and out of himself. which was good, bc he was getting heavy for me to help him!! LOL

Re: 5-point booster vs. car seat
Thanks everyone. It will just be forward facing at this point (dd is 4). I just wasn't sure if the convertible was somehow cushier or something should there be a crash.
