Pulling my hair out

How do you guys get your toddlers to bed??

Our two year old barely naps and wakes up pretty early. I try and get him to bed around 8/830 He gets out of his crib a bunch of times. When he does finally fall asleep (couch, my bed, floor) and I try and move him, he wakes up.

Pulling my hair out

My 2.5 year old is in a toddler bed but each night me and my husband talk to her while she is in bed for a few minutes, and we sit near her in the room until she falls asleep. Just having us near her usually calms her and she falls asleep pretty quick after that. Not the best habit maybe but at this age I dont mind.

Re: Pulling my hair out

Can you move him to a toddler bed? Make a big deal out of him being a big boy. I am a big supporter of cry it out. I had to do it with both my girls. The way I did it was put them in their beds and would sit on the floor and I did not talk or look at them. Each night I sat closer to the door until I was outside their door. At night I would never let them to stay in our bed. I would walk them back with little communication and put them back to bed. I also think bedtime routine is so important. Try to do the same thing every night once they get into a schedule and know you mean business it should get better. Its very difficult with my oldest it took 3 weeks but we committed to doing it and there were tears from her and from me but I knew it was for the best. Just stick with it.

I would say try a toddler bed and push th big boy angle. We let dd have books in bed with her, which we threaten to take out if she keeps getting out.

I have a 2.5 year old and she didn't STTN until she was 20 months old which was torture, but she is usually easy now. We have same routine every night, dinner around 6:15/6:30 and then bath, books (same 3 books in same order every night Chat Icon), and then I put her in the crib awake. I put her down between 7:30/7:45. Sometimes she won't fall asleep right away but she just lies there quietly.

Should've mentioned I'm pregnant with #3 and due in May. Not sure what the bedroom situation will be like (which two kids will share a room) so I don't want to get a toddler bed just yet. And I feel like he will just come out of any bed anyway. He's pretty strong willed
