Spinoff of that article I posted about poverty in America- How to help...

So some have asked for a way to help. Let's start with local foodbanks.

I searched for a way to help and I think this is a good route.

This is great.

I've been donating to the local food banks for a while.

Don't forget personal care items. A lot of the elderly need adult diapers. I clip coupons for them and grab them on sale

I wanted to add to pay attention to the website livingrichwithcoupons.com. They take the guesswork out of couponing for your grocery store and let you know what's free or cheap. A lot of times coupons will double, giving you free items, but it may not be things you necessarily use. The times when I get free boxes of cereal that we don't eat in our house, I donate it.

Thank you for sharing this.

I started volunteering with Long Island Cares this year and I encourage anyone looking for a cause to sign up. They always need people.

I also would like to look into doing something for the North Carolina Matthew victims. Many are living in awful conditions and will be through the holidays.

My in laws live in Myrtle Beach and while they did not get hit bad, the areas near them are awful. They are up here for Thanksgiving and my FIL was talking about it.

I came across this: https://www.charitynavigator.org/index.cfm?bay=content.view&cpid=4386

Maybe there is a Matthew charity on here.
