Merit increase
What would you say is the average? Just early merit increase, not promotional raise.

3 % really, I have no advise just following, where I work no one ever gets an automatic raise or increase. Unless you push and beg.

at my company its anywehre from 1-5% but 5% alsmot never. I get between 2-3% each year and that is considered good.

The average in my DH's company is about 3% but since it's performance based you can do WAY better than that.

My company offers either 1, 2 or 3 % depending on your performance.
If we want to give an employee more we have to really make a case to management.

i got 3% this year. last year it was less. my boss told me i got the highest with what she had to work with for our group. others got like 2.5%

The last few years we got 1%, 2% or 2.5% then the health insurance went up both times 7%. It's just great.

I heard ours is going up 20% this coming year.
So that 3% is even more pathetic.

For the last few years, it was something like 2.5%. If you busted your butt all year, you got "rewarded" with something like 2.75%, and if you did just enough to not get fired, you got around 2%
Big incentives....

at the last company i worked for, merit increases were maxed out at 2.5%. the manager i worked under said that NO ONE should get the 2.5% because that means that you are perfect and there you don't need to improve in ANYTHING but everyone has to improve in something.
most of us would see about 1.75%... whoop whoop.
now i work for a family-owned company. you have to sweat, bleed, and cry to even have a conversation regarding a raise around these here parts... it's one of the million reasons i'm looking for work elsewhere.

We get 2% across the board and it has been that way for years. My boss tried to get me a bigger increase last year, but it was turned down.

I got a raise 2 years ago, it was about 4%. Haven't seen one since.

Ditto. I once got 5% but that was because I had a slight change in title as well.
