What does a typical day/night look like for your 1 month-3 month old? Feeding..sleeping..activities...which toys do they stay in the most rocknplay swing etc.

Typical day/night

At that age, there was no schedule. I BF my DS on demand and I felt like he was literally attached to me all day, everyday. At that point, I was still in survival mode. He actually slept well from 8-12 weeks and then regressed until he turned 2.

He liked the rock and play, activity mat, and the swing. We also would go on a lot of walks. Around 8 weeks, I started doing baby boot camp with him in the morning on M, W, and F.

I would say around 6-9 months, there was more of a schedule.

1-3 month olds...it's all about survival. Nothing "typical" and no schedules.

This! However, starting around 8 weeks we did try to introduce a bedtime "routine." At that age it was nothing more than a bath, lotion, bottle then bed, but I think it helped establish a good routine going forward. Now even at 25 months DD still pretty much has the same bedtime routine and she's been sleeping through the night since about 8 months old.

LOL Yep
Though I can tell you her typical day/night when DD was that age:

Scream
Cry
Eat
Doze for 20 minutes
Scream
Cry
Eat
Doze for 20 min
Scream
Cry
Doze for 20 min
Scream
Eat
Cry

Repeat
Day and night. Night and Day.

My own day/night schedule when she was that age was pretty much the same as above. But just add in some drinking of booze between my crying!

Typical day/night

at that age there was no typical. The only thing I could count on was the constant crying.

We never did a schedule for either kid but both sort of fell in to the same rythm...I always said every 2hrs was lke a new day. Wake up, eat, change diaper, play for 20-30 min sleep 30-45. Repeat all day until bed an then bath book crib and sleep for 4-5 hrs eat sleep 4-5 hrs sleep for 2-3 hrs then up for the day. This was optimal and I would say aroung 5-6 moths a routine began to establish itself. Bed at 7, wake at 12 for a bottle, sleep, wake at 7, nap at 10-12 nap at 3-5 and back to bed at 7. Now DS is 10months and we are still down at 7 up at 12 for a bottle and right back down until 7am. One 2 hour nap at 11 and then a short 45 min nap at 4.

We never really had a schedule at that point. I went back to work at 8 weeks and miraculously, the night before I had to start work, DD decided to put HERSELF on a schedule. She decided 9:00 PM was bedtime and slept through the night. And has been doing so ever since.

With my first, she was on the eat, play, sleep routine by 7 weeks. It repeated every two hours she nursed for 30+ minutes, played for a little bit, then napped about an hour. Repeat all day.
My second is almost 2 and is just now starting to get into a routine since my first is in school 5 days a week. Up until now is been anything goes! Naps were all over, feedings were all over, etc.
I'd say do whatever works for your kid and your family!

Re: Typical day/night

DS3 is 2 months and right now he eats about every 2-3 hours during the day. In between he's either on his playmat or in his bouncy seat. He tends to nap in the swing a lot. I can definitely see a pattern emerging for him, but nothing consistent enough to set my watch by yet.
