Newborn photography

Has anyone taken newborn photos at picture people, jcpenney etc.? Do they have props there or do I need to bring my own? What about outfits? What are their packages like? I would like the pictures on a flash drive with no watermarks. Do they do that?

I brought my son to the one in Massapequa and I left in tears. They were so horrible! They rushed us through it and had a brand new person learning to take the photos take my sons pics. The poses were awkward and scruched. He looked like an alien in the pictures. I could not believe how bad they came out. Then they basically forced me into buying two or three prints which I never picked up. It was just a horrible experience. I have used them for every other holiday prioir to that with my DD and it was fine but for Newborn photos I would steer clear. JMO.

ETA: I ended up having Kate Marie Warch come to my home and it was worth every single penny!

I think i'd nervous to do newborn pics at a place like that due to germs etc.
I'd rather someone come to my home at that age

With places like that, you get what you pay for. I wouldn't expect anything special from them. Also, I'm sure you can find all the info on their site.

I wouldn't rely on any props from Target or JC Penney. Things are usually hit or miss. I did newborn photos at someone's studio and I still brought some of my own things.

I have found for important photos, spend the extra money and find someone else. It is an exhausting day and you don't want it to be a waste. A photographer will take time to calm the baby and they aren't on a time schedule.

I use JCP for many of my photos and personally I would look elsewhere.
