If your DC has had it, how long did the fever persist? We're going on 4 days now......it was gone all day today and I thought we were finally in the clear but now its climbing back up.
I'm at the end of my rope.

Thanks! I just realized I never updated- dd never had coxsackie. They misdiagnosed her. She had some random viruses she picked up at daycare. This is helpful though, because it's only a matter of time before she does have it.

There are a lot of random viruses that seem to come during the summer months. Last year DS 2 had a 5 day fever virus that was miserable. Basically coxsackie without the blisters.

coxsackie fevers generally dont get that high-- most people who have infants/young toddlers think it is teething until the rash comes.
it is hell.
this outbreak was the "worst" daycare had seen in years and our son got it the worst of any of the kids there.
i couldlnt walk so they sent me home from work.
our friend caught it from her son (same class).
now i am hearing other day cares around here have it too.

Yeah, DD's fever was pushing 104. She had virology testing done at the hospital- was not coxsackie. I gave the daycare a good scare though. Not that these viruses were a joke- 5 days of 103+ fevers. I'm just twiddling my thumbs until the next illness strikes, which will probably be today at 4 when I pick her up.
