Vomit and when to call ped!
We have never had a stomach virus with more than one or two vomits.
My son just turned 2. He has been throwing up since the middle of the night. He drank water and 10 min later it all came up. Nothing is left in his stomach.
Do you take your kids to ped for this? No fever and he is acting fine.

Need to watch out for dehydration. No wet diapers or tears for 12 hours. Try some ice chips or an ice pop.

We went through this. Don't give them water. It just makes it worse. Try ginger ale, Gatorade, or even a juice.Frequent sips.
Stick to light food like toast, crackers, pretzels and clear broth.
I would call ped if they aren't holding anything down and looking dehydrated.

Vomit and when to call ped!
I always give my DS ice pops when he's sick. I figure there's water and sugar so it's better than nothing.

Re: Vomit and when to call ped!
My dd was just hospitalized for the stomach virus. After 48 hours of non stop vomiting my daughter was dehydated. She had no energy, needed up to carry her and wasn't peeing anymore. If your child isn't urinating or is throwing up straight bile (bright yellow) you should call your ped.

Re: Vomit and when to call ped!
I'd call if he develops a high fever or if the vomiting lasts more than 24 hours. Meantime, try baby sips of water or warm gingerale. If he's still peeing, then don't worry too much, it will likely pass by tonight. Then just slowly add dry/bland foods in (saltines, dry pasta, chicken broth). No dairy, spicy, etc.
DS had a bad bug this winter and threw up non-stop and couldn't keep anything down for 24 hours. His stomach wasn't "normal" again for a week.
