Newborn Sleep
Can someone remind me if I should be doing something else? She is eating 3 ounces every 3 hours or so and of course sleeps deeply during the day. At nite it's game over, awake every 2 hours, seems gassy, and then 4:30am and back to deep sleeping. Anything I can do to switch her nite and days or is this normal for a 2 wk old??

Newborn Sleep
My girls never had night confusion. Not sure if it was just luck but for both I always had lights on, tv on, talking etc during the day. Then at say 7pm they were in a bedroom with the lights off, tv off, low talking if any and white noise machine.

I think it's normal at that age. My DS would clusterfeed like a champ at night until about 3 weeks. After that, it got better.

Re: Newborn Sleep
I think it's normal and will rectify itself.
Though I can't say for sure though because my DD never had night/day confusion. she just was up every 2 hours round the clock and screamed constantly. She was an equal opportunity screamer, she didn't discriminate - day/night it was ALLLL the same!

Newborn Sleep
DS was born same day as your dd and I'm going through the same thing. I'm trying to wake every 4 hrs at the latest if he doesn't waste and I try and keep him awake for a bit. My fil was able to keep him awake for 2 hrs the other day and he slept better at night. But I can't seem to wake him at all. If he is awake I put him on the play Mat to keep him up for a bit. Last night was bad. I wanted to sleep he wanted to party lol.

Re: Newborn Sleep
both of my kids were in NICU (for a short period of time) and were woken up every 3 hours to sleep.
I continued this except at night as instructed by my doctor he told me to wake them up every 2-3 hours during the day (try to keep them up while feeding them) and at night let them sleep as long as possible. I did this for both and both my DC were sleeping from 11-6/ by 8 weeks. (I bottled fed if that factors into anything for you)

Newborn Sleep
Dealing with this now. 5week old ds will sleep peacefully most of the day, only waking to eat, then right back to sleep. But then all night he's restless, seems to have gas pains and/or is just wide awake for an hour or two after each feeding. So frustrating since I can't evennap when he sleeps during the day bc I have my 3 year old to watch.

Newborn Sleep
I have a 2 month old and basically since day one we do add much tummy time as possibly during the day. I follow the easy method so activity after every eating. I aimed for 30 minutes a day in the first month of tummy time and 60 min a day in the second. He probably does about 2 hours overall though since I put him on it all the time. He still wakes at 3 for a feeding but 8:30 he's asleep for the night.
