Anyone's child attend Northport/East Northport schools?
I just got an e-mail stating that lead was found in water from water fountains in my son's school.
What do I do? Do I need to get both kids tested for lead? (DD attended and graduated from same school)

I would definitely have both kids tested for lead in this instance.

I saw another school on the news with the same (wheeler in valley stream). Dh said they just lowered the maximum allowed so we'll probably see a lot of this.

Lead was just found in the water in Commack schools to. I would have your kids tested

I asked our schools if they check after seeing the Valley Stream thing yesterday, and they said they do routinely.
I think this is really common since the pipes in schools are so old
(I encourage my children to NOT drink from the drinking fountain at school to begin with since they are germy. I send water from home).

Anyone's child attend Northport/East Northport schools?
I actually just asked my pediatrician TODAY of I should get my 7 year old tested and he said its my decision if I want to. He wasn't overly co corned (I'm in a neighboring district same issue).
