mothers day
my DH is pretty clueless with gifts and i usually have to tell him exactly what i want for birthdays and holidays. this year for mothers day, i am stumped. i don't really want jewelry or a massage and i can't think of anything i really want or need. what do you want for mothers day? besides of course, to maybe relax and have some peace and quiet?

Yeah other than my first mother's day where I picked out my own mommy necklace, I generally don't ask for gifts on mother's day.
If I want something I usually just go buy it.
DH will send me flowers from him and DD usually

I never ask for anything material wise. I usually get flowers from the kiddos. What I do ask is for half of the day to be ALONE. No one bothers me for a snack, wipe their butt, ask to watch cartoons, be a referee when my two kids want to fight over the same toy. Its a tiny break each year that I totally deserve and love lol

I have a weekend of no cooking and sleeping in. I do not like going out for brunch on mothers day since its a mob scene so they have brought me breakfast. The day before we do an activity as a family.
If I want something I buy it generally so no gifts per se. We are having family pics taken next month so maybe he can pay for that.

I'm going to ask DH to get me some face creams I want to try that are kind of expensive.
Is it wrong that my ideal Mother's Day would be day drinking with my girlfriends in an Adirondack chair and not have to deal with DH or my kids for the whole day?

DH got me a gift cert to a nail salon last year and that was great b/c I was able to get pedicures for almost the entire summer. Other than that I agree with sleep!

Normally I would have loved a boozy brunch and then to just relax all day and do nothing all day, but this year I'm pregnant and I've been really feeling terrible, so I haven't been doing much of anything lately anyway
So this year I really just need clothes. I'm outgrowing everything and need some maternity stuff. I plan to just ask DH for a GC to PinkBlush. And I'd love some flowers from DS. But I'll skip the brunch since food is repulsive right now.

I really don't need anything so I usually ask for something for outside to do as a family. This year I'm getting one of those planting boxes and I'll make a garden with DD.

I feel like it's silly to tell him what to buy me because I can just go and buy whatever myself. As long as we're spending the day together with the kids, I'm happy.  I'd like to head out east this year if it ends up being nice, we can shop, relax, and have lunch.
