Best way to mail a tshirt gift to someone
I bought my nephew a shirt I wanted to send him. It was just a little something I thought he would like It is wrapped but not wrapped in a box, just the shirt is wrapped. I was shocked when I went to post office to find out the priority mail medium boxes are flat rate $13.95. I am not sure if it is worth it for me to run around buying bubble wrap envelope and then mailing first class. Is priority mail the easiest way?

Thank you, but they said only small boxes are $6.95 that fit something like a small dvd. Everything else is the $13.95. Do you mean the tyvek priority envelope? I have one right here and it fits perfect but not sure if they are going to charge me the $13.95 for this envelope.

Tyvek is based on weight/zone, so it won't be $13.95 for a tshirt. I would throw it in a bubble mailer from Walmart, etc., and ship it first class for around $4 (depending on weight)

I have mailed plenty of clothing items and I use a bubble envelope, the plastic kind.I get them at Dollar Tree, but you can find them other places. Depending on where you are mailing to, it won't be that much.

regular priority flat rate envelopes are $6.50 and you can probably get a shirt in there. or use a bubble padded envelope and mail first class which will be less than that.
the flate rate boxes, for me anyway, are never the right size and expensive.

Don't use a flat rate box for something light like a t-shirt. You can use any type box or large envelope that you already have. A t-shirt in a small box might be under 13 oz, and you could do first class. Or you can get a free priority mail large envelope at the post office, which would definitely fit a t-shirt, and since it wouldn't weigh much, it would be much less expensive than using a flat rate box.

They should have them. If not ask for the supervisor.

This is what I ended up doing.
I bought an envelope the night before, but went to see how much the tyvek priority mail envelope would cost and it was $6.95. So I sent that out. I haven't mailed anything in a long time so now I know. Wish the guy at the first post office asked me kind of what I was mailing to help me decide. He made it seem like everything was $13.95 and above. The flat rate of $6.95 was fine with me.
