Seasonal Allergy Moms
When do you start the allergy meds? DS is on prescription allergy meds bc he's highly allergic to tree pollen. I usually start right when I see him getting uncomfortable, but wondering if I should start now since the weather has been mild. His allergies were even bad the end of Fall when we had a few mild days and the trees were just starting to bloom.

I started yesterday. She told me she was sneezing a lot at recess the day before. Our doctor makes us continue the meds until Halloween.

Re: Seasonal Allergy Moms
I know myself I was feeling it yesterday and today- took a pill this morning. I heard on the news that tree pollen is high I believe. It was one of them

Seasonal Allergy Moms
We started yesterday as well. She was so congested and runny last night after going to the park.

Thanks! Gave it to him this morning since his eyes were red and swollen when he woke up.

Seasonal Allergy Moms
DD was complaining of a headache and was sniffling so I'm sure it's bc of allergies. I'll start giving her medication tomorrow.

Re: Seasonal Allergy Moms
Depends on what the medicine is. If it's a nasal spray like Nasonex, it takes around 3 weeks of daily use to be effective so we start that a month before his typical allergy season. For other meds that work right away, I give those as needed. My DS is 6.

DD's allergist said she wants her to start the meds in March. We have an appointment next week.

Re: Seasonal Allergy Moms
I started to give him all (3) allergy meds on Wednesday. He was already on a daily dose of Benadryl. He is now on his prescription meds and a dose of claritin. I don't want him to end up in the ER again with difficulty breathing like last April...
