mid size suv with third row option?
i'm starting to look for a new car. I currently have a 2008 toyota rav 4 and it's been great but i need something with just a little more room. I'm thinking along the lines of the toyota highlander, honda pilot, mazda cx-9, jeep cherokee
anyone have experience with these cars or have other suggestions for me to check out? thanks!!

We have a Pilot and love it.
I don't think the Jeep Cherokee has a third row.

We have a Chevrolet Traverse and I love it! Captains chairs in 2nd row. We looked at the gmc Acadia and Buick enclave too. They're all very similar

I believe there is an option to get either a Nissan Murano or Nissan Rogue with a 3rd row.

I had the pilot before we traded it in for my odyssey. I love the Pilot!!! One day if I can ever not drive a minivan, I will get the Pilot again.

When we were buying my car we test drove the Santa Fe and loved it, but it was outside of our price range and I didn't feel we needed the 3rd row. We bought a Murano, which doesn't have the 3rd row.
We're going to buy DH a new car next year and we're leaning towards the Highlander.

I have an infinity qx60. It has a 3rd row, lots of space but at the same time it doesn't feel like a big car.

I have the 2007 Rav4......... It's been such a great truck!! But anyway, we're getting a new SUV this year as well and we're pretty sold on the Toyota Highlander. I fell in love with it, everything about it. Plus it gets great reviews! I've heard the 3rd row isn't huge but we only have 2 kids so that's really not an issue for me.

I have a pathfinder and love it....however we don't use third row that often, like the bigger trunk. If you need a third row for frequent use I would recommend captains chair in second row. Also when I use my third row my trunk is small. I loved the Acadia but it was too expensive.

this exactly! We didnt look at the enclave...it was a little out of our budget. We considered the explorer, but the 3rd row only seats 2 and we wanted it to seat 3.
we got an amazing deal on our 2016 traverse 3 months ago. so far we love it...however gas mileage stinks
If you want captains chairs in the 2nd row it limits you

My son has the cx-9. He really likes it. The third row is not very roomy if you are going to use it on a regular basis.

we have the jeep grand Cherokee now. I don't think the 3rd row is an option. Our lease is up this year and we are considering a Durango with the 3rd row.

is there a HUGE difference between pilot/odyssey in terms of space and gas mileage? we are considering whether to get a large SUV or a minivan, sine we want more room from our small SUV.

I absolutely love my Acadia but I don't know if I'd call it midsize. Sometimes I feel like I am driving a boat when I am trying to park!

I have a 2011 CX-9 and I have been very happy with it.
DH leased a new pathfinder this summer and we love it.
My dad has an explorer and really likes to too. Its a company car so he might have not chose it, but actually encouraged us to look at them when we were looking this summer. It's really nice.
I am eyeing the new Honda Pilot, but we are not up for a new car anytime soon!

same here...i basically just want the third row for the occasional time when we are picking up friends or other family members.
