Queens teacher sentenced to 10 years probation for sex with students
A Queens gym teacher guilty of having sexual relations with two 16-year-old male students was sentenced to 10 years’ probation Friday.
Joy Morsi, 40, a married mom of four, already completed a year of psychiatric counseling for the sex acts.
The ex-teacher had dyed her dark hair blonde for her appearance Friday. She fled Queens Criminal Court with her attorney immediately after her sentencing. Both declined to comment.
In January 2015, the Ridgewood teacher admitted to having sex with a 16-year-old Grover Cleveland High School student and exposing herself and performing a sex act on a second 16-year-old student, officials said.
At the time, Morsi's attorney said that she had a diagnosed "depressive disorder" and she was sentenced to one year of psychiatric counseling.
Morsi also had to register as a sex offender and give up her teaching license.

Gross. I just don't get how an adult woman can even think of a teenage boy in a sexual way, and then actually follow through with it. Psych problems for sure. I feel embarrassed for her (ex?)husband & kids. And wait, so probation for her & that's it... I feel like if a man had done this with 16 year old girls, he'd be locked up for sure.

The textbook from my first ever education class had a section about how students aren't really in love with you, we as teachers need to maintain professionalism, etc. I was under the impression that was common sense, but must happen often enough across the country for a textbook to have a section advising new teachers not to sleep with their students.

So insane that is in a book. What gets me is that her rape of Boys was "justified" by her illness. I don't think a man would have been given the same sentence. He would have gone to jail. I am a teacher and can't believe how common this story has become.

This woman should be behind bars-- I can't believe all she got is probation. Why don't we protect our sons the same way we protect our daughters??
