Is Coco Key really that bad?
I was looking at the Coco Key Waterbury Groupon but then the reviews for this place are the worst reviews I have ever seen for and establishment on tripadvisor. Is it really bad? I was thinking about just doing the Groupon, getting showered and dressed in the room and coming home for the night instead of staying. The groupon for a night and passes isn't much more than getting day passes only the the day we want to go. Would you even avoid that?
I know Waterbury isn't the best area but how bad are we talking realistically? We can't afford the more expensive Great Wolf places right now and DD keeps asking to go to a water park.

Is Coco Key really that bad?
It was fine. We went in February with DD1 who was 11 months old at the time. The only thing that kind of sucked was that it was super crowded and the food sucked. We did go during winter recess and there was a snowstorm so we couldn't really leave to get dinner anywhere else. We stayed and it was fine.

We haven't been since it opened many years ago, but the hotel was gross then. I imagine it's 10x worse now. The waterpark itself was fine then. Small, but fine. The reviews are horrible for the waterpark now, I'm guessing because they sell day passes, and people just don't care how they behave in public.

Someone I know went and there were bed bugs and broken beds and all kinds of nasty things...

I live in CT and went once. It was a horrible experience! They gave me free passes and I still wouldn't go back! I saw multiple health violations and aggressive staff. It's just nasty!

Great Wolf is great, we go frequently and have never had bed bug issues.

Just went on Trip Advisor and  . Those pictures give me nightmares.
I'd just go for the day if you want to go. I couldn't stay there.
We are trying Kahlari this spring. That looks awesome
