Leaving kids/babies in babysitting room at the gym
What's the youngest age you would leave a child in the babysitting room at the gym? Do they do anything with them (play/activities) or just sort of supervise? I'm debating joining a new Crunch that is opening but unsure if I feel comfortable leaving my 8 month old in there.

Leaving kids/babies in babysitting room at the gym
My sister has been leaving her children at the gym daycare since the youngest was maybe 6 months old. At first, she would try to go when the infant was napping and would leave her in her car seat. Her older one just turned 2 then and she's a social butterfly so she'd play with the other children. From what she's told me, the caretakers are really just there to supervise. Like if your kid is crying, they will not really soothe them and will immediately page you. Anytime she is dissatisfied with the care they receive she has complained and the issue has been remedied. They now know my sister means business and are definitely on their toes when her kids are there. She typically goes in the late morning and often her kids are the only ones there. During school breaks, she said however it is insanely crowded.

Re: Leaving kids/babies in babysitting room at the gym
I think every place is different. I used to go to a gym that was awful, the girl would just sit there on her phone, so I only brought my daughter once or twice. Where I go now they are wonderful. They will absolutely try to calm a baby down before coming to get me. They play with the babies, do crafts with the older kids. They are completely engaged in caring for the children, not just sitting there. When my youngest was around that age, they usually asked how long I was going to be so they would leave her in her stroller for a bit, put her in the exersaucer for a bit, sit her on the floor for part of the time. They liked to have a plan to keep her moving so she wouldn't get bored.

My gym won't accept babies under 3mos.

I think 2 years old was the youngest. They usually aren't very skilled and the rooms can get chaotic with older kids.
