Would you be annoyed? Daycare related
At 2:55, I get a call from daycare that DS has a 103 fever. I cancel my dentist appt. I go pick him up and bring him home. I take his temperature when we get home (45 mins later) and its 99.4. I've given him no medicine. He is acting 100% normal. Now he can't go to daycare tomorrow. It seems ridiculous. He has no fever. The director is off now so I have no one to call. I do not believe that they are lying about his temperature, but I am so frustrated by this.
Thanks just needed to vent!!

If be pissed. I don't see how his temp could have gone down 4* in less than an hour without meds.

His temp doesn't even go down that fast WITH meds!!!

That's strange. What kind of thermometer do you use and what do they use? I used to use the temporal one but twice I wasn't getting a fever and then went to the ped and dd had a fever according to their ear thermometer.

I have an ear thermometer. I've been taking his temperature non stop and it's been 99.4-100. A fever sure, but a low grade one.
I'm over it at this point. DS and I are going to finish baking Christmas cookies tomorrow and then I'll run some last minute Christmas errands.

So weird. That's a huge difference. Maybe a blessing in disguise, enjoy your day together and I hope he stays well!

I would be annoyed personally. In that situation, my daycare also requires a doctors note. Enjoy your day, but I would totally be annoyed.

I have been in the same situation it i s so frustrating. I one time asked them if their thermometer was broken bc every time she had the exact same random temp and then seemed fine LOL I guess kids can be all over the place, I know it sucks to be home but try and enjoy the day with your little one! =)

That has happened to me before, the daycare will call and say one of the boys is acting lethargic & has a 103 fever. So DH or myself run to pick hi up, and he is fine. Comes home and plays and eats and is in a great mood. NOT that I want my kid feverish and sick and clingy, but it is very frustrating when it becomes a wasted day off. I don't get annoyed at them though, just the situation. They don't really have a reason to lie...at least I hope they don't!

I've gotten calls in the last few weeks that her temp is "elevated" when she wakes up,from a nap. It's fine with me 45 minutes later. The room is sooooo hot in daycare, and she always gets warm when she sleeps. It's so irritating.

This happened to me once too. Got her home and she was so normal. Her fever was 98. I called and was like what was her temp? They said like 100.9 or something. And I was like um she's totally normal and doesn't have a fever and unless one happens she's coming tomorrow. I took her back the next day and she was totally fine. I was really annoyed I left work early.

I took her home and fever shot back up to a 101.4. Still has a fever this morning. How is it that only the dr's office got a normal temp for her?

That happens all the time with DS. Best part is once his temp starts to go back up it goes up quickly, and when it does he throws up.

I'm annoyed for two reasons : 1. I had to cancel my dentist appt and 2. Today is the daycare holiday party and he's missing it. So far today, we've been super productive so I'm not stressing - 2 loads of laundry done and all my Christmas cookies are baked!
