What should I feed my 9 month old?
My 9 month old all of a sudden refuses to eat oatmeal and jarred food. When I try to feed him, he just frantically shakes his head and pushes my hand away. He is drinking his bottles and he will eat yogurt but that's about it. I don't think he feels hungry bc he sleeps 12-13 hours a night straight. What are some foods I can give him for breakfast, lunch and dinner? I want to make sure he is eating enough. Thanks.

Dd1 did the same thing around the same age. I just started with actual food. Bananas, anything that can be mushed.

My 8 month old eats pretty much everything. I just chop it up small into pea sized pieces. He eats Cheerios, Egg Yolk, Avocados, Bananas, Banana pancakes, bread, waffles, peas, beans, mozzarella cheese, sweet potatoes, small pieces of chicken, pastina, mashed potatoes, carrots. I give him everything except the big no-nos.

My DD did the same thing around that age. I stopped the pureed food and went straight to table food.

Re: What should I feed my 9 month old?
Thanks. I'm going to the supermarket tomorrow to pick up some regular food for him. I gave him avocado last night and he loved it. Maybe he just wants to be able to pick up his food. Hopefully he starts eating.

Around 8 months, I started introducing table foods. Cheerios, meatballs, bananas, mozzarella cheese, pasta, etc.

My son didn't really like purees. He wanted what we were having so I just cut it up small and watched him carefully

Thanks for the replies! I gave him pancakes for breakfast and he actually cried for more. Then for dinner I gave him broccoli cut up and rice. He loved that too. He also ate cut up strawberries for lunch with a yogurt. I feel better that he ate today ??

That's awesome! Yes, continue giving him anything u can think of, except if there's allergies in the family and no honey, and whole nuts. Babies love learning everything about food; flavors, colors, textures, etc. plus being exposed to a good variety of food has a lot of benefits. But remember food under 1 is just for fun, the main food intake should be breast milk or formula. Happy feeding!
