today's pet peeve!!!

as we're about to leave the house for work, we hear that there's a car that turned over on the freeway. we grumble and move on.

well, this affected our commute in a BIG way. instead of sitting in a parking lot of a freeway, we decided to run an errand. i got my oil changed.

while sitting at jiffy lube, the tv is on and EVERY station is covering the story that all LAUSD (los angeles unified school district) schools are closed because of a credible terror threat.

ok, now to the pet peeve...

i sat in the jiffy lube waiting area for a good 30-45 minutes. during that entire time, the local news was covering the school closing. during that ENTIRE TIME not ONE IOTA of new information was shared. they just kept repeating the SAME THING over and over and over. one of the ladies "on the scene," asked a 12th grader how was it that he didn't know not to go to school (he had showed up and been turned away)... um, not everyone is glued to the tv in the morning. he's a teenager rushing to get his butt to school, he might not give two flying figs about what's on the morning news at 7am.

oh, my goodness!! i wanted to poke my eyes out and stab myself in the ears. so much time wasted on NO INFORMATION.

I would think he would have gotten a call that school was canceled lol. We get calls and emails everytime school is closed or for a meeting or such.
