entertaining kids at hospital
I'm due with #2 in a few weeks. I'm not going to do a "gift from baby" but i would like something to give DD for while at the hospital. She'll be staying with MIL but i assume she'd still prob end up sitting around with us at hospital for a bit, esp if i go through the long process of induction again (how boring). Any ideas on something small that would entertain her? She's 4. I'm thinking crayons, coloring & sticker books. Maybe bring our ipad with games? Any other suggestions from moms who've had big sister/brother at hospital at all and wanted to keep them entertained?

I was perusing amazon last night, and Melissa and Doug have a bunch of those kits with stickers - princess crowns, pocketbooks, things like that for about $5 each. I was thinking of getting dd a few of those (she will be 3) as a quiet non-messy arts and crafts project. They also make those kits that are sort of like paint by number but it's affixing gemstone stickers by number to make a mosaic thing.

My DS loves those mosaic sticker kits. And they're time consuming which is Always a plus

my kids love the color alive coloring book - it works with the iPad - it brings there color creations into 3d

When I was admitted with pregnancy complications, my 2.5 year old DD came to visit and spent a few hours each day with me. She watched her Disney junior and nick jr. shows on the iPad with those apps and she colored in coloring books... We basically had my DH pack up a bag of random toys and activity thing for her each day and just rotated.
