Re: Please Show Me
The playroom is now in the basement, but the best things to store the toys are big containers. Used containers for Legos and also their race tracks that come apart are in them and of course for all the food for the kitchen (they hardly use) all cars are in a kids garbage, but it has cars all over it so they get dumped in there We have shelves so all the games are on that The personalized hampers they got when they were born are used for stuffed animals They have a train table with drawers so that stores all the extra train pieces WE also have this toy bin for the boys smaller things and action figures Toy Bin
They are 6 and 4 now so not too many big toys anymore. Just one of those big roller coasters so that stays on the side of the room. Oh, and the kitchen set is stored on the side as well. Wii game system, games and remotes are all stored up high on the shelf so they have to ask us to change them
Sounds like a lot, but it really does stay clean for the most part. Oh, except when they have a play date... then it looks like a bomb went off. I think I'd love to get rid of the kitchen and food bc they hardly play with that and when they do it's a younger cousin who throws them everywhere.
Remember... bins, storage bins, and buckets, baskets and cute personalized kids garbage cans you'll never use are all great.
ETA - we got some great pictures from Home Goods for the wall. Also, we got these Sports clothes pins and rope to hang up their school art. It's really cute and the boys love hanging their pics up. High enough so they can't pull it down. May have to get another since it's really filled. LOL

Re: Please Show Me
I have that cube set from Ikea I got the 12 one and than each of them have their own toy bins (DD is in her room and DS is in the living room for now because he was to young to up and down the stairs where his room is). all of those are filled and I have big stuff just laying out (like doll houses, kitchen, etc.)
honestly they have way too much stuff!! (though I will never admit that to DH ) I really need to purge things especially since we are rarely even home for them to play with it!
ETA: this is the one I have and apparently its 16 cubes they are all filled with toys and books. I do have some bins for them but not all have bin to it ikea shelving unit

We have this same organizer and it's great. The bins can go from room to room and easy for kid clean-up.
