Sleeping in swing
So my dd is almost 12 weeks. If I put her to bed in thr swing she will sleep 4 to 6 hours straight. When she co sleeps with me or sleeps in her crib she's up every hour. Do you think it is okay to let her sleep in the swing every night for those hours ? Once she wakes I take her back to bed with me.

Re: Sleeping in swing
I had a kid like that... But it was just naps he took in it. Problem is he outgrew the swing. Then, I was tortured to get him to nap (only the stroller worked) & it didn't break til 3. My advice: don't do it!

Re: Sleeping in swing
DD was the same way but with her it wasn't the swing, it was the bouncy seat. She would ONLY sleep in there. Nowhere else. And even then she slept the bare minimum but it was better than the alternative.
So she slept in their until she out grew it then I got the Fisher Price Rock and Play and she slept in their until she went into her crib at around 6 months old

Re: Sleeping in swing
my dd is only 3.5 weeks.. but i was talking to my cousin who has a 2 year old.
she did everything by the book and what the ped told her.. and she still has trouble with him in his bed. so her advice was do what lets them sleep because they make change at any time anyway lol

Re: Sleeping in swing
Put her wherever she sleeps best and don't worry about. You need sleep so do what you have to do! When she starts rolling she may prefer tummy sleeping so that's a good time to move to the crib and out of the swing.

Re: Sleeping in swing
My dd was like this but with the rock n play. We had her start the night or do naps in the bassinet to get used to a flat surface, but had her sleep in the rock n play for the long haul during the night.

Re: Sleeping in swing
For now, I'd think it's ok if she's comfortable. Maybe in another month, I'd break the habit though, because it'll only get more difficult as she gets older & gets used to it. If she can sleep on a flat surface even some of the time to get used to that, it would probably help, also so she can stretch out & practice kicking & moving around. The reason I say that is because DS slept in his car seat in his stroller until he was like 4 months old because he didn't seem comfortable anywhere else... it was VERY hard breaking him of this habit, plus he was late turning over & other gross motor skills which I have no idea if it had anything to do with this, but with my younger ds I'm very mindful of letting him sleep flat & having that freedom to move around. Your daughter is still younger though so it's probably fine.

Same here except it was until he turned 1. He started STTN at 10 weeks. My older one was such a terrible sleeper as a baby that I was thrilled that DS2 slept well even though it was in the swing. It's not the best habit, but I believe in doing whatever works best for your family.

DD slept in her bouncer until she didn't fit in it anymore. You do what you got to do

Sleeping in swing
My DS napped I the Rock and play until he was 10 months old. My sister's oldest has never napped in her crib - she'll only nap in the car or in the stroller.
