Placenta attaching to scar tissue
Has anyone had this happen? I have an abnormally high uterus due to my previous 2 sections and great amount of scar tissue and I also have an anterior placenta. I went for my 17 week appt today and he wAs concerned at how high my placenta was and how close it was to my scar tissue. He said that if it attaches to the scar tissue it could potentially result in a hysterectomy and and early section. He said that baby should be fine, and honestly I can deal with whatever happens to me as long as baby is ok but after coming home and doing the dreaded google I'm scared out of my mind

Re: Placenta attaching to scar tissue
One of my good friends had the placenta attach to the scar tissue. She had to go for sonograms every week or two to monitor. I know hers was a very rare extreme case as the whole placenta was completely on the scar tissue, not just slight overlap. She had a c-section at 38 or 39 weeks and delivered a very healthy baby boy!! She ended up with a partial hysterectomy but that was determined at time of delivery, mostly due to the extent of overlap of the placenta on scar tissue. Wishing you all the best!
